| REGIMENTAL LIFE IN THE BRITISH ARMY IN INDIA 1921-1922
A nostalgic look back on the days of the Raj, as seen through the eyes of a soldier in the 2nd Battalion Manchester Regiment. The battalion arrived in India in February 1921 and was posted to Kamptee in central India (Central Provinces), which became their permanent station in India (I was in Kamptee 1927-1929 when my father was stationed there with 1st Battalion Leicestershire Regt). In this slim booklet all aspects of regimental soldiering in India are described, the training, social activities, sport, entertainment, civilian population etc. Appendices contain extracts from Regimental Standing Orders. Format: 1997.
